Rodborough School's 2013 project The Surrey Arts and Crafts Movement Researched by Pupils at Rodborugh School |
Godfrey Blount, Francis Troup and the Haslemere Peasant Industries were covered in the project.
Not only did the pupils visit lots of great local Arts and Crafts places such as Watts Gallery, Haslemere Educational Museum, Munstead Wood garden and St Christopher's Church, they also made some beautiful wood carved benches and a new Gertrude Jekyll inspired garden for the school.
The work has been touring the local museums, with the project work being held at Godalming Museum or being obtainable from Rodborough School. It is really nice to see local children learning so much about the history of the local area, well done!
Rodborough School's 2013 The Golden Triangle Film |
Lucky children to have been shown the Arts and Crafts treasures all around them.
ReplyDeleteIs it possible to buy a copy of their research/film from the school?
I think they would issue / sell copies if they were contacted.

I can always arrange for a copy through my 'contact' there I should think, if anyone is interested.
An update - Rodborough have said that they will send you a copy including the film if you give me your address!
ReplyDeleteThe Golden Triangle Project has been very important to show how the Arts and Crafts Movement has shaped not only our built heritage but the landscape setting within Surrey. The ever increasing pressure for more development needs to have an understanding of the past to enhance our future. sustainably.
